Windsor Events
June 17-July 1 – Windsor Summer Fest, Windsor, ON
- Summer festival, located at the Riverfront
- This annual event celebrates the national holidays of Canada and the US
- Will feature amusements, rides, food and game booths, tug boat races, parade (July 1), live entertainment over the weekend
- This year the Festival will have a 50s and 60s retro theme
- Target Fireworks over the river takes place Monday, June 23rd
June 21-28 – Eight Days in June: Creation in Conflict, Max Fisher Music Center
- Detroit Symphony Orchestra launches a new annual music festival, and promises to present classical, jazz, and chamber music as well as spoken word, film, lectures, and more,
- In addition to performances by the DSO, the following artists will be featured throughout the festival week: the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and Ghanian drummer Yacub Addy; pianist Christopher O’Riley performing the music of Radiohead; and Chuck D., founder of the hip hop group Public Enemy
