certified staff members interpret the results. The advisormay
find a clear link to an academic program thatmight beworth
considering. Or, just a one-time course orworkshop.
Career assessment is just oneweapon in the office’swell-
stocked arsenal of available tools that range fromone-on-one
career counselling toworkshops andonline resources.
Kerri Zold,manager of the office, says that several
workshops are held each termon such topics as how toprepare
for an interview. Amongother resources available are:
• Individual career consultations
• Mock interviews
• Job search strategies
• Workshops on such topics as “Insider JobTips” and
“BreakingDown theCareerDecision-makingProcess”
• Employer InformationSessions
• Annual JobFair (January) and
• Graduate andProfessional Schools Fair (October).
Zold says that, “Alumni canmake use of our drop-in services
andmake a point of attendingupcoming employer networking
events. For those thatmayno longer live inWindsor, they can
stillmake use of our jobpostings andother online resources.”
To that end, the office actually reachedout to computer
science graduateswho’dmovedout of townwhen Internet
shoppingbehemothAmazonheld a recruitment fair on campus
last fall.
