Homeland Security Was Subject of International University Conference

The University of Windsor hosted a conference on Homeland Security and Canada-U.S. Border Trade: Implications for Public Policy and Business Strategy, a bi-national conference to assess U.S. and Canadian security perspectives.

The conference linked academics, government officials and members of industry to review efforts to keep the border closed to terrorists and open for trade. The conference was designed to identify economically and politically feasible public policy and private sector strategies, to achieve a viable and sustainable balance between homeland security and economic security for both nations.

The conference was hosted by UWindsor, and co-ordinated by Texas A&M University’s Center for International Business Education and Research, and Dalhousie University’s Centre for International Business Studies. The event was also co-sponsored by universities associated with the Centers for International Business Education & Research.
