Classical Civilization
Bachelor of Arts (Honours)
• Focuses on the Greek love affair with life (the quest for ideals of
beauty, truth and justice) and the Roman sense of destiny and imperial
greatness (the unceasing struggle against the forces of barbarism)
• First-year courses include the civilizations of Greece andRome and
introductory Greek and/or Latin language
•Does not require any previous knowledge of Greek or Latin
• Immerses students in the art, literature, history and culture of the
ancient world

Bachelor of Arts (Honours, General or Concurrent)
French as a second language is the second-most frequently taught
second language in theworld after English, and the only language
other than English spoken on five continents
Offers a comprehensive program of study in language, literature,
linguistics, English-French translation and culture of the French-
speaking world
All courses are taught in French
Can be taken as a concurrent degree in French Studies and Education
Includes the option to spend third year in the South of France studying
at theUniversité deNice. Youmay also spend one or two semesters
studying at theUniversité duQuébec àMontréal

Examines the development of work and the impact of labour and social
movements inCanada and globally
Provides a comprehensive viewof work and its relationship to the
economic, political and social development of Canada and theworld
Examines labour relations issues such as collective bargaining, dispute
resolution and labour law
Considers a range of social issues including poverty, unemployment,
work stress, health and safety, education and training, gender
discrimination, racism, technological change, child labour and
environmental pollution
Offers degree-completion programs with the option of a Bachelor of
Arts in Labour Studies alongside the Canadian Human Resources
Professionals certification. You will gain a whole new perspective
