This combined honours degree in English and Digital
Journalism offers both a full academic degree in English and a
degree concentration in the specific professional skills of web-
based journalism-each year, you will take both English courses
and DJ courses

English courses will cover a wide range of great writers—both
historic and contemporary—and consider the issues with which
they grappled
•
You will enhance your analytic perceptiveness and powers
of written expression, engage in intensive, workshop-based
courses in various genres, and receive training in web-based
editing and publishing
•
Journalism courses will cover such key professional issues as
the social role of journalism and ethics, and help you to develop
specific skills such as web-based reporting, podcasting, and
audio-visual production techniques
•
Learn skills of reporting, interviewing, compiling, writing,
photography, and editing, producing features and other projects
•
Industry professionals are both instructors and guests in the
program, and opportunities for professional internships are a
key element
