In 2015, the University will welcome its first class of students to our new,
$70-million downtown campus.
The campus will include the School of Social Work, the School for Arts
and Creative Innovation and the Centre for Professional and Executive
Education. They will be based in several historical sites in the city’s core.
The former
Windsor Star
newspaper buildingwill be completely
transformed as the newhome of the School of Social Work and
the Centre for Executive and Professional Education. TheWindsor
Armouries buildingwill be reinvented as a centre for the newlymerged
School for Arts and Creative Innovation. And, the former Greyhound Bus
Terminal, directly across from the armouries, will serve as expansion
space for the FilmProduction program.
Thismove, which builds on a rich tradition of collaborationwithWindsor
and the surrounding area, will benefit both the University of Windsor and
the community.
The campus’ locationwill allowUWindsor faculty, staff and students
to forge stronger connections with artists, musical groups and social
services. The presence of more than 1,000 faculty, staff, students and
visitors on a daily basis will invigorate the downtown core.
