Morphology | The norcardioforms form a fugacious mycelium that breaks up into rod shaped or coccoid elements. The term brings together 17 genera with this shared characteristic but it does not mean that they are closely related. Thus attempts to define the nocardioforms in chemical terms are futile. |
Motility | |
Specialized structures | Aerial hyphae bear long chians of smooth walled conidia that can differentiate into zoospores in an aqueous environment. The rod shaped zoospores 90.5-0.6 x 0.7-1.0 um bear multtrichous flagella and eventually form several germ tubes. Spores are covered with multilayered integuements with cores separated from the cortex-like coats by a boundary region. Chains of spores are also porduced on vegative hyphae |

COLONIAL |
Solid surface | colourless to brownish moderately branched vegative hyphae about 0.5 um in diameter, white aerial mycelium is formed but not abundantly |
