FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM TO FOSTER INTERDISCIPLINARY
COLLABORATION AROUND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Anewprogramof theEntrepreneurshipPractice
and InnovationCentre (EPICentre) aims at
harnessing creative energies to transform campuses,
communities, anddisciplines.
TheEPICentreEntrepreneurshipFacultyFellows
Programwill offer a one-year, renewable appointment
and fund students supervisedby facultymembers in their
owndisciplines todrive projects that reflect the interface
between their own academic areas and entrepreneurship.
“What’s exciting about this is that itwill help
faculty and students across campus own the idea of
entrepreneurship,” says business professor Francine
Schlosser, the centre’s director of research and innovation.
“It has todowith their own livelihoods and their creativity.”
Engineeringprofessor Jill Urbanic says the fellowship
programwill aidher efforts to turn ideas intomarketable
products.
“We really are trying to teachour students
professional life skills,” she says. “The fact that the
University is investing in this—providing support and
infrastructure—is proof of that.”
The program is open to all full-timeUWindsor faculty
members, withup to10new fellows accepted each year.

SheilaMacKinnon, partner at ShibleyRightonLLP,
hasbeenappointed toa two-year termas chair of
theUniversityof WindsorBoardof Governors.
Shepreviously servedasfirst vice-chair.
MacKinnon’s civil litigationpractice focuses on
education andpublic law and labour and employment
matters.
She has a particular interest in corporation and school
board governance. She has developed anddelivered
workshops andprovided legal advice onparliamentary
procedure, conflict of interest and
TrusteeCode of Conduct
andEnforcement
. She has advisedon the development and
amendment of corporate and school boardby-laws and
governingpolicies. She developed andpresentedwebcasts
for theOntarioPublic School BoardsAssociationon
governance andparliamentaryprocedure.
She has volunteeredon a number of community and
professional boards of directors, includingCanadian
Association for thePractical Studyof Law inEducation;
theTorontoEducational OpportunityFund; theCrime
Concernof MetropolitanToronto; and theEssexBusiness
Improvement Association.
MacKinnon is past chair of theBoardof United
CommunitiesCredit Union (nowLibroCredit Union).
