The Intellectual Property Legal Information Network (also known
as IPLIN) is an organization operating under the auspices of the
University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law. Through the generous
support of the Law Foundation of Ontario and the Faculty of Law,
IPLIN is dedicated to providing public legal education and a reliable
resource centre for the dissemination of information to those
within the Windsor-Essex County community who have questions regarding
Intellectual Property or Innovation Law.

Intellecutal
Property is a system of law developed loosely to protect the products
of human creativity. Intellecutal property rights in the
fruits of his or her labour. The principle areas of intellectual
property are copyright, patents, industrial design and trademarks.
Copyright law is designed to regulate the dissemination of artistic
and dramatic rights. Patent law deals with inventions.
Trademarks deal with the creative elements of business and commerce.
