Paul Spurgeon, Vice-President, Legal Services and General Counsel to the Society
of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) November 7,

As general counsel to SOCAN, Mr. Spurgeon's practice includes copyright law,
communications law, corporate-commercial law and administrative law, appearing
before the Copyright Board and the Federal Court of Canada and other public bodies
including the CRTC and various Parliamentary committees. Click here

SOCAN is a party to the appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada of the "Tariff
22 " decision, a case that raises a number of copyright issues relating to
the transmission of music over the Internet.
Mr. Spurgeon will be speaking about Canadian law regarding copyright and music
downloads.
