President's Annual Garden Party 2003 New Faculty and Staff

The Annual President's Garden party to welcome new staff and faculty took place on Monday, September23rd from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Ambassador Auditorium, CAW Student Centre.

Seventy - one (71) new faculty and Fifty-nine (59) new staff were introduced to the university community.

Engineering - 12; Human Kinetics - 1; Law -3; Nursing - 3;

Science - 14; Library - 1 librarian







University Celebrates 40th Anniversary



Fabulous at forty! Faculty, staff and students joined at a barbecue lunch in the Quad on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 from 11 am to 2 pm to welcome first year and returning students to the campus community and celebrate the University of Windsor''s 40th anniversary.

The party was complete with food and entertainment including the University of Windsor Jazz Ensemble, clowns, magicians, mimes, balloons, and a giant cake!

In recognition of the university''s 40th anniversary, four trees will be planted on campus in honour of each decade and signifying future growth for the university. Degree-granting status was conferred on the University of Windsor in 1963 although its roots reach back to 1857 through the university''s affiliation with Assumption University.

The celebration was sponsored by the University of Windsor Alumni Association, the University of Windsor Student Alliance and University Advancement, University of Windsor. The entire campus community was invited to a free BBQ celebration of the 40th anniversary of the University of Windsor.

Achievements of University of Windsor in 2003

This year marks a special significance with a number of achievements.

1. University Celebrates 40 years anniversary

2. Enrolment at 16,000 is highest ever ( 1500 in 1963)

3. New Satellite Medical School launched

4. Three new buildings are completed

5. Several New Ph.D Programs launched in Computer Science,

Earth Sciences and Sociology & Anthropology.
