President Kumar's Message
All the best to everyone for 1998. I hope you had a healthy and Happy Holiday! As you know many other Canadians suffered from the Ice Storms, but one of our members Pat Galasso from Kingston reported that fortunately his house was spared from the disaster of the ice storm.
As indicated in the December Newsletter, we have submitted our pension and benefit proposal to the Contract Committee of the Faculty Association. Dr. Jang Singh, President of the Faculty Association tells me it is being considered by this committee. I shall be able to report to you in our semi-annual meeting in March as to what transpired regarding our proposal. I hope to see you all at the March meeting!
Dr. Ross Paul takes over as New President of the University of Windsor effective January 27, 1998
Editor Bill Phillips - a Second Retirement!
Serving as the Founding Editor of the Retirees' Newsletter, which was first published in 1991, and after publishing 25 issues, Bill Phillips decides to step down. During the seven years of its publication, the Newsletter evolved from a one page output to 10 pages per edition, entirely due to his hard work, dedication and enthusiasm .
As the incoming Editor, I wish to express our thanks and appreciation to Bill on behalf of the Retirees' Association of the University of Windsor and publicly acknowledge his dedicated service to the Association. He certainly deserves the rest and a second retirement.
