SCIENTIFIC SCOPE OF THE SYMPOSIUM
|
The International Symposium on Acoustic Imaging in Windsor, Canada is already 26th in a series of highly regarded interdisciplinary scientific forums, and has been convening regularly since 1968. This unique symposium is devoted to the various subject matter of physical principles, technical developing and using acoustical imaging.
Main topics and areas of interest are:
- Physics and Mathematics of Acoustical Imaging
(wave propagation, scattering and diffraction, reconstruction algorithms, image processing, three dimensional imaging)
- Components and Systems (transducers and arrays, signal processing, imaging systems, acoustical holography)
- Acoustic Microscopy (physical principles, novel in technical development and experimental design, new methods)
- Biological and Medical Applications (ultrasound echography, flow imaging, tissue characterization, novel imaging methods)
- Nondestructive Evaluations and Industrial Applications (material characterization, acoustical sensors, imaging of fluids, robotic
vision)
- Geophysical and Underwater Acoustical Imaging (seismic tomography, 3-D imaging, Ocean tomography, elastic waves, waveform inversion)
Abstracts are due by May 1, 2001. All submissions should be written
as an extended abstract (200 words). E-mail should be used whenever
possible, however, fax and post will also be accepted. Acceptance
notices will be sent by e-mail no later than June 22, 2001. However,
early submission of abstracts and an expedited review can be arranged
for anyone who requires time to arrange travel.
