Business Students Give Back to the Community

Students from the Odette School of Business were models of behaviour in fall 2007, raising close to $9,000 for local charities.

The students, from the organizational behaviour classes at Odette were actually the latest class in the past 10 years to use class projects to raise almost $200,000 for charity.

Each term, more than 200 third-year students take the course, gaining experience in organizational behaviour concepts and principles, and in-depth knowledge about communication, decision-making, motivation, leadership and conflict resolution through the project.

"The Odette School of Business is extremely proud of the efforts of these students and their instructors," says business professor Martha Reavley, chair of the management area. "Their hard work and dedication reflect the school's values of service to the community and commitment to creating a better future for all."
