Student group promoting international reach of local businesses

The local chapter of a student organization with operations in 107 countries promoted international reach for local businesses.

AIESEC—formerly known as the Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciale - hosted representatives of government agencies to speak with businesses trying to tap into global markets.

The plan was to familiarize local business leaders with organizations like AIESEC that already exist to support them in this area. The student groups network of overseas internships provides a resource of expertise for local businesses and a cost-effective solution through the Global Internship Program.”

AIESEC’s national vice-president of corporate relations, Frank Olaya, joined Sandra Pupatello, Ontario's Minister of International Trade and Investment, and David Offenbacher, senior account manager for Export Development Canada, as keynote speakers at the breakfast, and as participants in a panel discussion.

Also in attendance were 10 senior economic officers from Pupatello's ministry, representing posts that span the globe - Beijing, London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Munich, New Delhi, New York, Paris, Shanghai, and Tokyo.
