P/J General Methodology: Computers (80-301)

OBJECTIVES

This component is designed to provide preservice teachers with:

  1. knowledge about the basic operation of computers used in education
  2. experience in the use of E-Mail and the Internet
  3. experience in the use of cross-curriculum software tools which can be applied in any subject area
  4. exposure to content-specific software
  5. skills in the integration of computers in the classroom using instructional/needs design principles.

EVALUATION

Grades will be based on seven equally weighted assignments indicated above. All assignments will be graded as A (Above Expectation: 10/10), B (As Expected: 7/10), C (Below Expectation: 6/10), D (Barely Adequate: 5/10), or F (Unacceptable: 0/10). In order to comply with the Faculty Council policy regarding expected grade averages, final grades for all sections together may be curved along a normal distribution with an expected grade average of B.

REQUIRED MATERIALS

The required materials are two (2) 3.5" floppy disks.
