just a few things...
Monday, December 8, 2008
before we finish for the semester i have a few odds-and-ends that i’d like to make available to you.  i hope you find these helpful and interesting.  i include them because they directly relate to discussions we have had recently in class and/or they are specifically relevant to some of the ideas that have arisen during out weekly peer critiques.

    - a discussion on the 'educational turn' in art.
    - The Metropolitan Complex [The Metropolitan Complex is a project by Sarah Pierce. It uses archives, exhibitions and papers - often opening up these structures to the personal and the incidental. A pressing interest is to discover points of reference that declare a local scene. Work happens through slippages between here and there, and despite at times obscure patterns of communication, every situation begins with an invitation.]

i’ve added all these to the JumpPoints page as well

artist statements
Thursday, December 4, 2008
I have added the INTERVIEW and the CLUSTERING followup information for your artist statement exercises.
remember that i will bring large paper for you, but YOU need to bring your own markers, crayons, pencils or whatever it is you want to write with.

i’ve added all the notes that i distributed in class for my pedagogy diatribe. (they may be useful to come back to from time-to-time)
i’ve added a few things to the Jump Points page.  links to the CAA Guidelines for Résumés and CVs and to a few other books that i’ve mentioned in class have been added to the Readings page.

news etc.
Monday, November 10, 2008
i’ve added BrokenCityLab to the JumpPoints page.
i will talk for a bit (an hour maybe ?) about my ideas and research into pedagogy.  we can also have an open forum on this issue.  i would like to begin to segue some of these ideas into our critique/peer discussion process.
we also have at least one critique/studio visit
do not forget the sander l gilman talk thr. at 7:30. Lee recommends it VERY highly.

good meeting last night.   i am energized by the discussion and your interest in pushing boundaries and perhaps finding some new ways of doing things.  this could be fun !

OK.. i have made some “small changes” and adjustments to this site:
- the schedule has been upgraded from “highly tentative” to “slightly less tentative”
- i have added some links (as we discussed in class) to the JumpPoints page (other suggestions are always welcome)
- a few other minor edits of detail and substance to the outline
- i will get the calendar thing sorted out ASAP
- please let me know of anything else you would like to see added/appended/referenced from this site.
