ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Financial support -
Financial support for the acoustic search for the Ivory-billed Woodpecker on the Choctawhatchee River in 2006 was provided by a Special Research Opportunities Grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) to Daniel Mennill at the University of Windsor. Ongoing research in the Mennill Sound Analysis Laboratory is supported by an NSERC Discovery Grant. The Mennill Sound Analysis Laboratory was created with the assistance of a Startup Grant from the University of Windsor and an equipment grant from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI). Read about the agencies providing support for our upcoming search through the partners page.

Field assistance - Several of our friends helped by volunteering their time to assist us with field research. We are very grateful for the help of Sidra Blake, David Carr, Chet Gresham, Leon Hicks, Wendy Hood, Mark Liu, and Paul Mennill.

Lab assistance - The four sound analysis technicians in the Mennill Sound Analysis Laboratory went above and beyond the call of duty. All of them volunteered extra hours of acoustic searching time after grant support had run out. We are grateful for having Sarah Lippold, Jason Mouland, Sylvie Tremblay, and Kathryn Winger on the acoustic search team. Kathryn's research was supported by an NSERC undergraduate summer research award.
