About US

The Black Law Students' Association (BLSA) at the University of Windsor is an affiliate of the Black Law Students' Association of Canada (BLSAC), a national, not-for-profit organization. BLSA was formed to identify and work towards the removal of institutionalized and other barriers facing African/Black Canadians in relation to law school and the legal profession. Windsor Chapter is committed to supporting and enhancing the academic, mentorship and networking opportunities for Black law students.

Other activities include fundraisers for Steven Lewis Foundation and A Child’s Hope Foundation. One of the highlights of the year is the national BLSAC conference, which provides a forum to discuss issues facing black law students and an opportunity to network with legal professionals from across the country.

Formed in 1991 BLSAC is committed to academic and professional excellence. BLSAC promotes institutional change within Canadian law schools and the legal establishment in an effort to ease the adjustment involved in the transition from law school to the legal profession
