professorAnne Snowdon, academic chair of the
OdetteWorldHealth InnovationNetwork, in
recognitionof her achievement, commitment and
excellence as amember of theOntarioHealth
InnovationCouncil.
Dr. Snowdon says shewas honouredby theaward.
“Ontarioand the chief health innovation strategist, Bill
Charnetski, haveassumeda significant leadership role
indriving successful adoptionof innovation in thehealth
sector,” she says.
Thenetwork’smainareas of focus include supporting
world-leading researchaffecting thehealth sector and
helping toensure thatCanadian innovations anddiscoveries
haveaccess to thekeyenablers necessary for development
and commercializationof products and technologies.
Dr. AllanConway, deanof theOdetteSchool of
Business, says theawardhonours Snowdon’s expertiseand
commitment toadvancing innovation inhealth systems.
“Dr. Snowdon’swork toaccelerate scalabilityof health
system innovation contributes tobotheconomicgrowthand
sustainability,” he says.
Two individualswithUWindsor tieswere among
the 30ministers announced byPrimeMinister
JustinTrudeau.
Navdeep SinghBainsMBA ’01,MP forMississauga-
Malton, took on the portfolio of minister of innovation,
science and economic development.
The newminister of science, KirstyDuncan (MP
EtobicokeNorth), is a formermember of theUWindsor
faculty, having taughtmeteorology, climatology, and
climate change here from 1993 to 2000.
