NEWS
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
It takes a multitude of dedicated people to make the University of
Windsor a successful place for students, faculty, staff, alumni and
the greater community. Every fall, we have the privilege of hosting
two events that recognize the contributions of some of these
outstanding individuals whose efforts have helped strengthen our
alma mater. We encourage you to join us for the Alumni Sports
Hall of Fame event to be held on October 2 and the Annual
General Meeting and Awards Presentation on November 23.
This year, we have had many reasons to celebrate all of
UWindsor’s exciting developments. Significant progress is being made with the construction
of the Centre for Engineering Innovation; the development of a downtown campus is
underway with the historic announcements of the relocation of the Music, Visual Arts
and Social Work programs to the core; and we reached a milestone of graduating 100,000
alumni during our spring convocation. In the words of the You Tube video that was
produced to mark the event, “What a Feeling!” Visit
Also this year, the first-ever Women’s Basketball CIS Championship games were held
here in Windsor and our Lancer team was victorious within just a few days of the Lancer
Track and Field teams also claiming national titles.
Many of these success stories have been shared during President’s Wildeman’s national
“Pride for a Lifetime” tour, with more events scheduled through the rest of this year and
into 2012.
This tour is just one of the ways the Alumni Association strives to foster a great sense of
pride in UWindsor through communication, celebration of success, and by encouraging and
nurturing lifelong relationships with graduates – past, present and future.

significant milestone in our history. After all, you are a part of it!
