Our Mission

The objective of the T.R Residential School for Poor Children has been to promote the education, health, nutrition and career needs of poor children. To fulfil this objective, a residential school was started on August 15,1992 in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh, South India, by admitting 25 (twenty-five) orphaned and handicapped children in grade 1.One teacher with several years of teaching experience and a chef to cook and serve meals were hired, and Grade 1 instruction materials, text books, two pairs of school uniforms and extra clothing for the children were purchased. Grade one to ten , vocational training in carpentry, tailoring, gardening, embroidery, candle making, detergent manufacturing, vegetable growing, solar energy for electricity, rain water conservation pits, yoga and meditation were introduced in phases over the last 18 years. As a result of these efforts, 85 students graduated as of July 2010 with high school diploma who are either employed or pursuing post secondary education. We are consistently working towards long-run sustainability of the project in the future.
