The top quark was not discovered until 1995 at Fermilab located in Illinois. Also, experiments are still taking place today at Fermilab to further understand the top quark.28

The Bohr model of the atom is that the atom is composed of a positively charged nucleus surrounded by electrons which are orbiting due to the Coulomb force between them. Furthermore, this nucleus is composed of protons and neutrons. You might ask yourself, "What are protons, neutrons and electrons made of"? This question leads us to the Standard Model of Particle Physics (SM). This model tries to identify the smallest components of our universe and how do they interact with each other.

The SM predicts a total of seventeen particles not including any anti-particles. There are three categories: Quarks, Leptons, and Bosons. More details of each type of particle can be found by clicking on each of the three particle types in the image below.
