Carbon Nanotubes
Carbon nanotubes are cylindrical molecules that are composed entirely of carbon atoms. There are two
types of carbon nanotubes: single-walled and multi-walled. Single-walled carbon nanotubes have widths
close to one nanometer and lengths up to a few centimeters. These may be
thought of as a single atomic layer of graphite (called graphene) rolled into a seamless
cylinder. Multi-walled carbon nanotubes are basically several nanotubes stacked one inside another.
