Positions Available for Research Assistants, Visiting Scholars, Graduate Students

 

Note (1): If you want to become a graduate student, you can apply on-line. If you are applying for graduate study and English is not your native language, then TOEFL, IELTS or other English Test is normally required, but GRE is absolutely NOT required.

Note (2): If you are applying for Visiting Scholar or Research Assistant Position without being a student, TOEFL and GRE are not required.

 

Position UAV-1: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle  (Aerospace Engineering/Automotive Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Materials Engineering)

The requirements are as follows:

1.     Good knowledge and/or experience about unmanned aerial vehicles.

  1. Capability of conducting experiments and design.

The following criteria are preferred, but NOT required:

  1. Knowledge about any of the following: fuel cell, battery, materials, chemistry, etc.
  2. Knowledge on system control.

 

Position 3D Printing-1: 3D Printing Technologies (Aerospace Engineering/Automotive Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Materials Engineering)

The requirements are as follows:

1.   Good knowledge and/or experience about 3D printing and other manufacturing technologies.

2.   Capability of conducting experiments.

The following criteria are preferred, but NOT required:

3.   Knowledge about any of the following: fuel cell, battery, materials, chemistry, etc.

4.   Knowledge on unmanned aerial vehicles, system control, etc.

 

Position Control-1: System Control for Hybrid Vehicles (Aerospace Engineering/Automotive Engineering/Electrical Engineering)

The requirements are as follows:

1. Good knowledge and/or experience about system control, microcontroller/circuit development, motor control, battery management system.

2.     Capability of conducting experiments.

The following criteria are preferred, but NOT required:

  1. Knowledge about Matlab/Simulink or Labview
  2. Knowledge/experience on electrical driving and hybrid-driving mechanism
  3. Knowledge on battery, fuel cell, unmanned aerial vehicles

 

Position Materials-1: Nano-materials for Fuel Cell Application (Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Materials Science or Engineering)

The requirements are as follows:

  1. Good knowledge in material science and engineering
  2. Capability of conducting experiments

The following criteria are preferred, but NOT required:

  1. Knowledge in thin film/coating technology
  2. Good knowledge in chemistry
  3. Knowledge and/or experience in fuel cell and hydrogen technology

 

Position Materials-2: Nano-materials for Battery Application (Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Materials Science or Engineering)

The requirements are as follows:

  1. Good knowledge in material science and engineering
  2. Capability of conducting experiments

The following criteria are preferred, but NOT required:

  1. Knowledge in thin film/coating technology
  2. Good knowledge in chemistry
  3. Knowledge and/or experience in battery, fuel cell and hydrogen technology

 

Position CFD-1: CFD Code Development (Mechanical, Automotive and Materials Engineering/Thermal Science and Engineering)

The requirements are as follows:

  1. Good knowledge in fluid mechanics, heat transfer/combustion
  2. Good at computer programming (at least one of the following languages): FORTRAN, java, c, c++ for engineering computation.

The following criteria are preferred, but NOT required:

  1. Knowing numerical method for engineering calculations or having experience on engineering calculation code development.
  2. Capability of conducting experiments
  3. Knowledge and/or experience on fuel cell and hydrogen technology
  4. Knowledge in gas turbine combustion
  5. Knowledge in internal combustion engine

 

Position CFD-2: GUI (Graphic User Interface) Development (Computer Engineering/Science)

The requirements are as follows:

  1. Good at computer programming (at least one of the following languages): FORTRAN, java, c, c++ for engineering computation.
  2. Knowledge on Linux System, Windows System and dongles.
