Vol. VII, No.5, December, 1997

A MESSAGE FROM OUR NEW PRESIDENT

I AM HONOURED TO HAVE BEEN ELECTED your President for 1997-1998. At the conclusion of the Annual Fall General Meeting on October 16, the new Executive Committee of the Association formally assumed office and started to work immediately on a number of issues regarding pensions.

A NOTICE WAS SENT TO ALL OUR MEMBERS in late October requesting feedback regarding the upcoming negotiations between the Faculty Association and the Board of Governors of the University. Based on this feedback we will be putting forward proposals for benefits for our retirees to the Executive of the Faculty Association to be considered for inclusion in the new contract proposals. We will keep members posted with any progress in the up-coming negotiations at a later date.

WISHING YOU A VERY HAPPY AND HEALTHY HOLIDAY SEASON AND A BRIGHT NEW YEAR,

Kumar Chatterjee
