RETIREES' SOCIAL EVENING / DINNER A SMASHING SUCCESS

Fifty-eight (58) persons attended the Retirees Annual Dinner on Saturday March 20 1999, at St. Clair College Dining Room. This was the first time in many years that such a large group was present and enjoyed a wonderful evening.

As the guests trickled in for the evening, Joyce & Joseph Habowsky as usual had an interesting game of identifying the pictures of famous people in politics, government, science, sports etc. Of the 20 pictures one person scored 19 and won the prize.

I must confess that for a bunch of former professors who were vigilant in not allowing any cheating during the examinations they supervised, this group was profusely consulting during the identification of the pictures, which was supposed to be an independent effort.

Following a delicious meal, David Booth entertained the group with a piano recital and some group songs. Stan Cunningham President of the Retirees Association briefly welcomed the members and thanked them for their support and participation.

John LaGaipa who organized this event for the last several years had done an excellent arrangement and received many compliments. As Master of Ceremonies for the evening, he usurped his position and put on his second hat as a comedian and entertained the group with his experiences in politics in Washington DC
