Assignments
Graduate Students
Participation and five one-page reports: 20% of the grade.
Seminar Presentation: 20% of the grade.
Term Paper(s): 25 pages of writing worth 60% of the grade.
The number and length of the papers you write is subject to negotiation with the instructor.  For example, one 5-page paper and one 20 page paper is a possibility.  One 10-page paper and one 15-page paper is another possibility.  For those who have sufficient background, one 25 page paper is a possibility.  There are other possibilities as well.  The exact amount each paper contributes to the final grade will vary with the length.  Basically, multiply the number of pages in the assignment by 2.4.  For example, if we agree that you will write one 10 pager and one 15 pager, then the former is worth 24% (10 x 2.4) of your final grade and the latter 36% (15 x 2.4).
