Overview What does it mean to say that an act is right or good? What does it mean to say that someone has a good character? Are we saying something objectively valid when we make such claims? Is there some sort of objectivity in ethics? If so, how is it secured? If not, is there still a point to moral discussions? What sorts of theories have been offered with respect to what makes an action good or right? These are just some of the questions that will be explored in this course. Regular attendance is essential for students wishing to do well. |
