In early October
2009, fifty-two young biologists from the University of Windsor
experienced a one-day ornithology field trip to Point Pelee National
Park and Holiday Beach Migration Observatory. The group watched massive
flocks of birds flying around the tip of Point Pelee, spotted migrating
birds in
the pelee marsh, banded songbirds and hawks captured off the migration
route, and finished the day with
a trip list of 42 species seen. The Ornithology class of 2009
extends
their sincere thanks to Phil Roberts, Bob Hall-Brooks, Bob Petit, and
the rest of the Holiday Beach Migration Observatory for contributing to
an outstanding day of ornithological activities.
