Under Coco’s stewardship, the firm

r. Cindy Hutnik’s academic and career accomplishments define the term,
“overachiever.”
An associate scientist in the Lawson Health Research Institute in London, Ont.,
Hutnik’s work with laser therapy has attracted more than $2 million in grants.
She enjoys a thriving ophthalmological practice at St. Joseph’s Health Centre
in London, and an assistant professorship in the Department of Ophthalmology at
the University of Western Ontario. She is an adjunct professor in the Department of
Chemistry and Biochemistry at UWindsor.
Hutnik is a member of the International Tear Film and Ocular Surface committee
of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, several editorial boards,
and an advisory board member for a number of major pharmaceutical companies.
But this Windsor native has not forgotten her roots or the university that launched
an outstanding career. In 2003, she established the Hutnik Research Award, a scholarship
given annually to a fourth-year undergraduate student for the best research project.
“The University of Windsor has always been good to me,” she says. “The feeling I
had at Windsor made me feel the need to give something back.”
The impressive alumna is also a 2006 recipient of the University of Windsor
Alumni Association Odyssey Award.
