The Vancouver Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) is located in the southwest corner of British Columbia that has a land area of about 2,883 sq.km. Based on the 2016 Canadian Census, the CMA has a total population of 2,463,431, which represents a 6.5% increase from 2011. The Vancouver CMA is currently ranked 1st and 3rd in the provincial and national population ranking, respectively. Furthermore, the CMA has a total of 1,111,450 jobs as of 2016, where retail trade (12.30%), health care and social assistance (11.20%), and professional, scientific, and technical services (10.64%) are the top three dominant industries in the CMA.
