Transportation Module

The Transportation Module of SMARTPLANS is based on the conventional four-steps Urban Transportation Modeling System (UTMS). These stages are integrated together to predict the flow of trips between origins and destinations by mode of travel and to simulate the traffic volume on the urban transportation network. The results from this module are used to calculate a number of transportation usage and performance measures that are then used as input to other Modules.

The UTMS used in SMARTPLANS consists of the following submodules:
