Career Planning and Education
Howcan the Centre for Career Education (CCE) help you?
The Career Education Team at the Student Success Centre offers
programs and resources that can help you with career planning,
job search strategies, resumé writing, interview preparation and
experiential education.
What sorts of workshops and events can I attend?
The workshops offered explore a variety of career development and
employability related topics such as “Understanding Labour Market
Information and Developing a Personalized Job Search” and “Interview
Techniques”. Each year, students can attend a career expo typically
in the fall, a job fair in the winter term, and numerous employer
information sessions and networking events throughout the year.
What other resources are available?
The Career Education Team offers individual career advising
appointments and helpful online resources to assist students
in achieving their career goals. Students can earn a Career
Development Certificate by participating in their choice of five
qualifying activities related to employability and career development.
Mock Interviews
Professional mock interviews are designed to enhance skills and
confidence and provide feedback and evaluation.
Job Postings
All job postings targeted to UWindsor students and recent grads are
posted on the myCareer system. This includes full-time, part-time,
summer, contract, volunteer and international career opportunities.

Volunteer Internship Program
What is it?
Volunteer with a non-profit or not-for-profit community agency or
government office to get career-related experience and a notation
on your transcript.
Howmuch time is involved?
Students volunteer for at least 40 hours within a 10-week period.
Who is eligible?
Everyone.
Why?
Gain references, experience, skills and an acknowledgment notation
on your transcript.
Co-operative Education
Why take co-op?
Co-op is an opportunity to gain 12-16 weeks of career-related,
full-time paid experience. All co-op students earn a wage, which
is determined by the hiring company.
Howmany companies are involved?
Each year, more than 200 companies post co-op opportunities.
Wherewould I work?
Mostly in Ontario, but placements are offered throughout
Canada and internationally.
