A course designed to teach the students how to improve their written and spoken French by focussing on the
frequency of certain errors and their origin. Secondly, the course focusses on improving the quality of the
students'French by analyzing the most common structures of French.

29-468 Sartre's La Nausée -- Interpretation and Translation
These two intimately connected activities will be given equal importance in this course. We will proceed by looking at the text in the original: study its genesis, its themes, and how its vision of the universe is expressed through its language and imagery. We will also debate how the translation approximates or misses out on the multiple meanings below the surface.
