Frances M. Shaver, Concordia University, Montreal
Dr. Shaver has been studying sex work since 1983. In addition to her work with STAR, she has carried out field research in San Francisco, Montreal, and Toronto with women, men, and transgendered people involved in street prostitution.

Claire Thiboutot, Executive Director, Stella
Ms. Thiboutot is a member and co-founder of Stella. In 1998 she became executive director of the organization. She spent a year and a half in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam where she helped put in place a prevention and health care project for sex workers and IDUs.

Sid, Sex worker and Activist
Sid has been a sex worker since 1997, and is now self-employed. He has been active in community initiatives such as the Coalition for the Rights of Sex Workers, the PPP, S‚ro Z‚ro and the STAR project where, among other things, he was an interviewer.

Pascale Robitaille, Clinical sexologist and Activist
Ms. Robitaille is a graduate student in the Department of Clinical Sexology at UQAM. She has been president of the board of administrators at Stella since 2000.

The MC for the event will be Francine Tremblay. Ms. Tremblay has been with the STAR team for the last two years. She holds a Master in Sociology from Concordia University and is a PhD candidate in Sociology at UQAM.
