Message from the President

Another very successful Annual General Meeting was held on August 4 at Glen Burney Marina. Thanks again to Glen Burney for donating the funds for a lovely lunch, which I believe was enjoyed by all. Once again, the event was more than just a meeting, but rather a social event, an opportunity for neighbours to get together, talk and share information while at the same time work towards making the South Channel an even better place to live and play.

Thanks again to Carol Topping for all her work in organizing the lunch and the raffle prizes.

We have a few changes in the executive for the coming year. First of all I would like to thank Shirley Wigmore who is resigning from the executive at this time, for her years of service on the Executive.

Joining the executive is Ed Pintwalla, who will be without portfolio for the time being. Welcome Ed.

Joining the executive as an "ex officio" member will be Claudette Pintwalla. Claudette is the South Channel Association's liaison to the Georgian Bay Association. So this, you will recognize, is a very important role.

We had some very interesting speakers at the AGM this year. Tony Fell, from the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation spoke to us about the Hospital and the fund raising campaign he is heading. I would like to encourage members to make donations to this worthy cause. Should you do so, you may want to identify yourself as a South Channel Association member. All donators will receive a tax receipt. US citizens please note that tax receipts would be available for you also.
