Presidents Message Fall 2007
Fashionably late! But if I didn’t tell you, you probably
wouldn’t even know, but I’ve honestly had writers cramp for this for the last
couple of weeks & yes, crazy busy & yes, I took a weeks vacation when
this was due!
What a great summer! I’m often asked what we at the SCA do. Not by members, but by non-members, other
“Georgian Bayers”, and even people who have nothing to do with Georgian
Bay. See, I’m proud, so I tell people, secretly
creating more awareness. So, excitedly
I take a deep breath because I know I’m going to need it!
Lets see, what did we do…:
Renewed
logo voted by you the membership
Reflective
dock signs to be proudly displayed by you the membership
The ANNUAL SCA summer fun day held at
Craganmor Point (thanks
again
Matt & Nat!!), which I gotta tell you, was kind of poorly
attended
this year, so I expect you to bring more kids next year
peeps!
I need to be beat at the kids games and
only kids can do it!!
Still,
the Fun Day was great for information & fun, and a few new
members
attended and signed up!
Oh
yeah, and we renewed our “New Membership” package and again,
we
need your help and involvement because 33% of 300 is great, but
66%
is better!
New
clothing! And it rocks and has been
selling really well thank
you.
I’ve gotten many compliments when
wearing mine everywhere!
My goodness…another breath…
Another exciting, informative, well attended AGM – thank
you to
everyone,
and next year, there will be a cost to be paid if you’re on the executive and
you’re not sitting at the front with the rest of us!
And finally, a great Executive pot luck hosted by the
Fryers (boy, do
They
know how to do it!)
I must have missed something!!!
So, I’m proud to say
collectively we do a lot! And because it’s
such a great team effort, it’s not an extra job, it’s like, lets have some fun! We’ll let you know some of up and coming
projects this winter once we’re past the brainstorming stage!!! So many exclamations!
Thanks & see you on
Thanksgiving,
Ryan Tarrant
