President’s Message Fall 2008
It’s September already but we sure deserve an Indian summer this year!
The Fun Day at Craganmor’s was well attended & as was our AGM!
Thanks again to all the volunteers that make those 2 annual events possible!
We’ve already got some cool stuff planned for next year!
So here is the ongoing news update.
We’ve broken the SCA into 6 “areas” to help organize the large area we cover.
We now have maps to support these areas and we are matching the Island numbers, lot numbers & owner info etc.
into spreadsheets to correspond with each area.
This will be a nice information and organizational tool for the SCA forever.
Paul Morgan is working on a renewing a Fire Plan for our Association.
As many of you understand, there was a previous “plan” and shared purchases of the “existing” fire pumps.
But, many of those properties have been sold, we don’t know how many fire pumps exist any longer etc.
So, Paul is looking for information AND any VOLUNTEERS that can help to renew this plan.
We will chose fire sub “areas” from the above mentioned maps we’ve had created and hopefully
we will all feel more organized & safe.
We now plan to get both of the above membership & fire plan details together for next spring,
then we’ll come visit as many people as possible in the South Channel & get the fire plans finalized for next summer.
If you’d like to help, email me and I’ll forward you to Paul.
Thanks to Steve & Pat (& “M”) Blundy who held a really cozy Executive Pot Luck for us so on Sunday of the Labour Day long weekend.
I hope the fall weather is nice for all of us blessed to spend it here in our South Channel.
Sincerely,
Ryan
