SOUTH CHANNEL ASSOCIATION'S
“Clean Up the Bay"
Contest ( Ages 6-16)
SCA will host a "Clean Up the Bay" contest to run from June 1st through
July 31st (the date of our annual meeting).
We invite young people ages 6-16 to participate and have the chance of winning
one of 3 wonderful prizes donated by our generous sponsors.
Photos of ALL participants will be printed in a future newsletter.
To participate simply take an hour or two to "eco-mink" your
shoreline for non-biodegradable trash. Take a photography of your son or
daughter and e-mail or mail it to the address below. Photos should show a
cottage scene ( no dump photos please ) the trash bag(s)/items and the contest
participant(s).
Awards (3 total) will be based on 1.) the largest quantity of trash, 2.) most
unusual piece of trash ( please describe the item in your e-mail or mail) and
3.) the largest single item.
The contest is open to SCA members and non-members. Awards will be given
out/announced at our annual meeting held at Glen Burney on July 31 2005.
THE PRIZES....in no particular order, winners get to choose.
1.) White Squall of Parry Sound the local paddling experts are offering a one
half
day clinic at their Cole Lake training center for the contest winner and a
guest.
Learn to paddle a Kayak like a pro. Sessions are available for
beginners and up and for all age levels.
2.) The Divers Nook of Parry Sound will be taking a contest winner and a guest
diving with mask and snorkel to a popular off shore wreck. Let the diving
experts safely take you and a friend for a fun filled afternoon
.
3.) Castmates Fishing Tours will take the contest winner and an adult friend on
a
4 hour fishing tour down rigging for Lake Trout in the clean, cool waters of
Georgian Bay. This is sure to be fun for everyone.
Please share this information with your children and we look forward to
receiving those photographs starting June 1st.
