Membership Report - Steve Blundy
91 members last year – 88 members at present
potential membership about 300 (Rick Z)
Goals: contact all on tax roll
It was pointed out that a flyer was sent out to everyone with their
membership card that listed on one side the advantages of being a member, and
on the other side was a membership application. It was suggested that this be
given to neighours.

Council Update: Rick recapped the amalgamation situation – request of Parry Sound for a commissioner to make final decision.
Possible costs to SCA members for: Parry Sound Place, Parry Sound Hospital, Belvedere Home for the Aged, Planned Seniors Housing
Council continues resistance
Bob Prout expressed meeting’s thanks to Rick for his spirited presentation.
Video Presention Dr. Karl Schiefer’s video was available during lunch hour.
Environmental Concerns Stan described water testing and septic inspections in progress and expressed thanks for the appreciation dinner given by SCA last year.
GBA update - John Pepperell
John reviewed the role and function of GBA and achievements such as the
floating cottage issue, air quality monitoring, increased OPP presence,etc. He emphasized the need for increased funding to GBA from cottage associations.
Increase in SCA Membership Dues
After discussion the following motion was tabled.
Motion: That SCA fees be raised by $15.00 effective for 2002 to accommodate the requested fee increase by the Georgian Bay Association.
