Introduction
Road racing is an extremely simple event to run. At least it should be.
Let's look at it in its easiest form. Get the competitors all lined up
fire the gun to start the race. As the competitors cross the finish line
you hand them a number...1 for the first 10 for the tenth etc.
First complication the competitors want to know their times.
Second complication the competitors want to know their place with respect
to others of their own age and sex.
Third complication you have 500 runners in the race and it seems that
almost all of them arrive at the finish line at the same time. I have
set up other files to read about our solution to these problems. In
addition this software will run any race that has a start and finish
line. In fact it will run a triathlon allowing the competitors to see
their times for the swim, their transition time, time for the cycle,
transition time, time for the run, and overall time and place.
