Bib numbers for a race
All racing competitors are given a number to wear on their body so that
the race organizers know who they are. This does not matter at the first
of the race but it sure does at the end of the race. In its simpliest
form the bib numbers can be written down at the finish line as the people
cross the line. Then write the number beside the times that you have
recorded and everything is finished. Well not quite! What about walkers
and wheelers in the race. What about men and women in the race. What
about the 6 year olds and the 20 year olds etc...etc..etc. You should
read more about the problems of bib numbers at the finish line. Things get complicated.
