| Encouraging Classroom Engagement

| Students, like you, were asked to react to various
pedagogical techniques they were exposed to in the classroom.
Different people liked different techniques. Some techniques were viewed
as "Encouraging Classroom Engagement" or "Creating a Positive Learning Environment"
but only for some, not for all. Most people reacted somewhat less than
positively to the "story," for example. |

paper was written up for a graduate class to critique (and thus it has
numerous methodological weaknesses) it does contain interesting
information on student attitudes to various instructional techniques.
