Aim of the course:  To be able to use an RDBMS for Systems Development - specifically, to create an application software from scratch to implementation using Oracle DBMS tools for both front-end and back-end.

 

Course Requirements:

 

ü       SQL – DML, DDL

ü       SQL*Plus

ü       PL/SQL – PL/SQL blocks, procedures, functions, triggers, exceptions

ü       Oracle Forms

ü       Oracle Reports

 

 

 

 

 

1.     Demonstrate the application developed which will be followed by a viva-voce.

2.     Submit a printed report (approximately 2500 in words), which must include:

 

ü       The basic characteristics of the tools used

ü       A detailed case study describing the development of a non-trivial

     application done by your group. This must include

 

Ø       An Entity Relationship Diagram representing your application

Ø       The database design (Basically , the set of normalized relations forming your database, keys, indexes etc)

Ø       The Interfaces used in your application (Forms and reports)

 

ü         System and User documentation.

ü         Source Codes(if applicable)

            

 

 

 

Midterm:: Presentation in the week of 21st February: 20 %

Final:: (Week of 11th April)

Demonstration of the application developed: 30%

Viva Voce (written or oral): 15%

Report: 35 %
