Social Networks - Security & Privacy Threats

A virtual network comprises of a group of individuals that primarily interact via newsletters, e-mails or instant messages and do not meet face to face for professional, social, educational or other purposes. In the cyberworld, such virtual networks are emerging at a rapid rate. In a social network, individuals are tied by one or more specific type of interdependency that might reflect their religion, visions, values, ideas, friendship, like/dislike, kinship, interest, etc.

Keeping the rate of emerging social networks in mind, these social networks do fall victim for security threats at one point or another. Following is a list of popular social networks. These networks are further discussed in detail in their prospective documents.
