| Method | Inoculate plates and incubate for 24 hours at 37 degrees C | 
| Results | Tellurite resistant microbes reduce potassium tellurite to tellurium and show heavy growth of back colonies. Tellurite sensitive microbes either fail to grow or show a very light growth of pale colonies. |
