Facilities and Membership Information

The St. Denis Athletic and Community Centre is the recreation facility on the Campus of the University of Windsor home of the Lancers. Opened in 1980-81, it is operated under a Community use Agreement which allows residents of the City of Windsor and the County of Essex guaranteed access to the indoor and outdoor  facilities during specific times. 

Our Mission......
"to provide facilities and service for University programes and to work cooperatively with the greater community of Windsor and Essex County to ensure access to those facilities and services as outlined in the Community Use Agreement."


CAMPUS RECREATION PROGRAMS

Campus Recreation conducts the majority of its program offerings in the St. Denis Centre; many of which are open to the public. Members are entitled to a reduced fee when registering for these programs.  (Some restrictions apply). 

Programs available include: aerobics, adult learn-to-swim, kayaking, tennis, Master/Triathalon swim club, tai chi, martial arts clubs, fitness evaluations, weight training, personalized exercise programs, CPR/First Aid and a cardiac program for both post and high-risk coronary patients. 


SERVICES AVAILABLE (X2456)

PERSONALIZED FITNESS PROGRAMS:
Need a change in your exercise program? Meet with a certified exercise trainer to have a program designed for your needs. Cost$20.00 
Special sessions may be arranged for groups of 2 to 3 clients.  Cost 10.00 each.

FITNESS ASSESSMENTS:
How do you measure up? Have a complete fitness assessment performed to evaluate cardiovascular fitness, body composition, flexibility, and muscle strength. Exercise recommendations also included. Cost $40.00 

PERSONAL TRAINING
This package is for those who prefer ongoing training to provide instruction, motivation and support.  Bring your workout partner with you for the same price.  Cost $50.00 per session, sessions = 45 Min.

CERTIFICATION & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Campus Recreation offers various certification courses, throughout the year.  Contact 253-3000 ext. 2456 for specific course information.

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP


Fees are as follows: 

1999-2000 Yearly Daily
Adult (18+) $185.05 + $GST = $198.00 $5.00
Family (Dependents Only) $334.58 + $GST = $358.00 $8.00
Junior (13-18) $127.10 + $GST = $136.00 $4.00
Senior (60+) $127.10 + $GST = $136.00 $4.00
Alumni $150.47 + $GST = $161.00 $4.00
Alumni Family (Dependents Only) $271.03 + $GST = $290.00 $7.00
One month, 3 month, 6 month and yearly memberships are avaiable. The control desk (X7029) can be contacted for further information. *All Membership Fees Are Subject to G.S.T.* 
   When purchasing a membership, a member accepts that      throughout the year, some areas of the facility may be closed for university or community events.
Memberships can be purchased from the control booth from Monday - Saturday, 6:30am - 10:00pm and on Sunday, 12:00- 7:30 or by contacting Mrs. Sheila Daudlin at (519) 253-3000 (ext. 2428) from Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm.

MEMBERSHIP/FACILITY POLICIES
* Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult
* Dependents must be under the age of 21
* Spouses and children of full time students are eligible for free use with   a valid ID card.
* Spouses and children of part time students are not eligible for free use
* Staff and faculty who receive university benefits are eligible for free membership (dependants must be under the age of 21)
* A $5.00 charge will be levied for a replacement card.
* The University of Windsor assumes no responsability for loss, damage or injury to person and property arising from the use of its facilities.

LAUNDRY AND TOWEL SERVICE

A lock and tote locker are provided along with towel and tote bag. Daily laundry service and use of day locker are included. Cost $11.21/semester.

Hours may change due to special events. Please call the Control Desk or check the monthly calendar for specifics, (eg during intercollegiate seasons 4pm-8:30pm unavailable for community use) 
PARKING

Parking is available directly across the street from the Human Kinetics Buildings in Lots U,H,&G. These lots are metered and patrons are reminded to pay at the parking kiosk.
